Mills and Reeve

Mills and Reeve are commercial lawyers with offices in London, Birmingham, Cambridge and Norwich.  When they were moving into their new prestigious offices in Norwich, we were asked to tender for the supply of their plant displays.

An initial meeting established that, as the building was very modern, they wanted to have a very contemporary style of planting.  We proposed a very adventuruous colour scheme for the containers, using orange and olive green on a tapered square container with an ash wood trim to match their furniture.

The plants were of an extremely high quality, with the statement plant being a 4.5m Veitchei palm in the Reception atrium.  The rest of the plants included some exceptional quality Polyscias, Dracaenas and Ficus.  In 2004 we won a national award, a Bronze Leaf from eFig (The European Federation of Interior Landscaping Groups), for the design and installation for the Norwich office.

The client were delighted with the results, and invited us to supply their plant displays to the Cambridge and London offices, where we introduced a third colour, a rich blue, to the container colour scheme.

A further development of the theme of the use of colour and the choice of plants can be seen on a seperate page for a Doctor's surgery in Haverhill in Suffolk.  At Ridyards, we are not frightened to introduce new innovations, whether that be in planting style, containers, or even colours!
